Dog Walker/Runner

Dog Adventure Club is currently seeking dog-loving runners for part-time work, mostly during business hours on weekdays, with the potential to eventually transition into a full-time role. Candidates should send an e-mail to adrian@dogadventureclub.ca explaining how they fulfill the following criteria:

• Love of dogs

Experience working with dogs is not necessary but love (possibly bordering on obsession) is a must.

• Physical fitness

Must be able to run 10km in a day and aspire to do more. Must be able to restrain a 100lb-plus dog in an emergency.

• Relentless cheerfulness

This is one of the most rewarding jobs in the world but that doesn't mean there aren't rough days. We go out in rain, snow, bitter cold, and sweltering heat, if the dogs can handle it we can handle it. We pick up poop, snatch garbage out of dogs' mouths, and patiently, respectfully, and safely endure public interactions with all kinds of people, other dogs, and wildlife.

Please also mention if you have any of the following bonus attributes:

  • Pet first aid certification

  • Vet-tech training/experience

  • Official half or full marathon race times

  • Previous dog-walking or other pet services experience

  • Access to a private fenced yard

  • Plus anything else you think may be relevant
